IY Parenting Groups
Group format, 18-20, 2 hour weekly sessions  Incredible Years emphasizes parenting skills to promote children’s social competence and to reduce behavior problems Teaches parents how to play with children, help children learn, give effective praise and incentives, use limit setting and handle misbehavior  Group format utilizes;  discussions, goal setting and problem solving, principle training, buddy calls, skills training and practice, cognitive thought training, group brainstorming, DVD vignettes of parents and children, role playing, homework assignments including practice and reading.
